Okay, that makes sense. The price of that MS school was way too low to be at a proper HS size. Personally, I love single-HS ISDs. Band and clubs almost accept an unlimited number of members. Sports at those schools typically have more junior varsity teams, so only the varsity level is where kids get left out or less playing time. It's great when a community can rally around 1 school, yet also have a chance to compete. Also, the Plano ISD method could be used where there is a school for 11-12 and either 1-2 schools for 9-10. BNB is correct. The MS was built with the intent of eventually making it a HS Campus. The 'core facitlity' is big enough to accompany 5a numbers. It was also builty in a manner where adding on classroom wings and such will be relatively easy. I was involved with the construction of it and will say it is a very, very nice school with lots of property to expand it on. NBISD did this right. It will eventually make a fine 2nd HS for the district when the time comes. Hang in there BNB, better times are coming for the Unicorn football team IMO. I think the new coach and having Streety back in the district as the AD will be a big plus and there are some classes coming up with some better size and speed. Maybe so Clem, But just dont let the old NB townies hear you playing that rock n roll down by the river or there will be hell to pay I tell ya.

Just wanted to post a link of renderings of Pebble Hills HS. I love how spread out everything is, but the fact that there are 4 outdoor basketball courts, a beach volleyball area, and a putting green right in the middle of the other athletic facilities is just awesome, and to my knowledge, unprecedented. www.neomedia-dg.com/Content/pebble-hills-high-school.html

The Plano model is a mess. There is no consistency in the programs. The middle schools split kids up to different high schools and then the high schools split kids up to different Senior Highs. If they just drew a line and said this road splits East from Central and this road splits Central from West they could put in a lot better programs and compete with Allen. I agree. I should've worded that differently, where I say I like the HS/Sr HS model that Plano has. I never understood why you'd have 5 HS that feed into 3 Sr HS...just build a 6th one and create a true feeder system. The better phrasing would be the Southlake Carroll model -- two high schools, one 9-10, one 11-12. I think Plano now has 6 HS and 3 senior high if I'm not mistaken.

Wow, I didn't know they even had Murphy AKA McMillen High in the works, much less that it opened in 2011. The current feeder pattern is so much better than the old one. www.pisd.edu/schools/feeder.schools/index.shtmlAlso, I didn't know that about SLC, but good comparison. Edit- The 6th Plano HS is located adjacent to Kimbrough Stadium. I've actually passed right by it a few times and didnt realize it was so new.

Here's a list of schools to keep an eye on. If you hear of any others that spring up, or emerging details of these, this is the thread to post your updates. 2014: FW Benbrook (9) Midlothian Heritage (9) 2015: CC Veterans Memorial (9-10) El Paso Pebble Hills (Socorro ISD) (9-10) Frisco Reedy (9-10) Northwest Eaton (9-10) 2016: Alvin Shadow Creek Cy-Fair Educational Village Denton Braswell (9-11) Frisco Lebanon Trail (9) Lamar Fulshear Judson Evans Road Leander Glenn Pflugerville HS #4 2017: Cy-Fair HS #12 Frisco Memorial (9-10) Katy Ventana Lakes Klein HS #5 Northside Kallison Ranch 2018: Montgomery HS #2 2020: Prosper HS #2 Leander ISD: Tom Glenn HS is LISD's 6th HS and is built in the North part of the district. It will mostly take kids from Rouse but will also take some from Leander. Since it opens in the Fall of 2016 with 9th & 10th grades, I believe that by the 2018 UIL alignment all six schools will most likely be 5a and in the same District. If so, I see Georgetown & Georgetown EV staying in the district with the LISD schools, with Marble Falls & Dripping Springs moving to another district either D26 or D27. However, that will depend on if the district plays with the boarders making sure that none of the schools gets above 2100... otherwise Vandegrift may continue to grow over 5a numbers if they don't adjust the boundaries. When they solicit for school Mascot names and colors, I'm hoping they'll go with something like the Grizzlies with Purple, White, & Yellow just to change it up. Way too much Black & Red to date. Red, Black, & White (Vista Ridge), Maroon, Black,& Gold (Rouse), Black, White, & Red (Vandegrift) Forest Green, Black, Silver, & White (Cedar Park) Royal Blue, Red, & White (Leander)

Passed by Alvin Shadow Creek Ranch.....they're still building it, but it looks like it's going to be HUGE!
The traffic in that area is already bad. I can only imagine with the HS opens.

So we shall see how it all shakes down for the next realignment. Is CCISD going to redraw Attendance Zones to have all 5 High Schools in 5A for Football for the next realignment? What enrollment numbers will they use for Veterans this October on Snapshot Day, with them only having 9th-10th Grade and a partial 11th Grade (see #3 of the above link) students?

It looks like King and Carroll are going to have the biggest changes, and I'm willing to bet that there are 6 5A schools in 2016. Enrollment numbers will include the 9-11 that will be on campus this fall, as well as the incoming freshman class for 2016.

www.midlothian-isd.net/district/rezone.htmlLook out for Midlothian Heritage's rollout plan. 2014- All of MISD's 9th-graders 2015- 9-11 in MHHS boundaries (about 600 students) 2016- 9-12 in MHHS boundaries (about 800 students) For 2016, MHS will definitely drop down to 5A. MHHS will most likely be 4A.
