I'm worried about Lake Travis...you're nothing.
Seems to me you might want to worry about winning 30-4A first. Didn't you kind of get it handed to by one of your district foes? 42-25...
Big picture is Lake Travis and we'll let you handle the East's

I don't think anyone has had as tough a schedule as LT has had for the past 3 years. And to win 4 straight State Championships speaks loudly. No matter on how well LT does with this tough schedule, they will be ready to run the table in the playoffs again. Only two tough losses in 2010 to Top 10 teams Aledo and Cedar Park. LT got revenge in the playoffs with CP. I am sure all of Texas HS Football is looking forward to the LT vs. Aledo game in Aledo this September. Kerrville Tivy has had a real tough schedule. Tivy had a tough schedule in 2010 with only two losses...both to LT (last one in the 2nd round of 4A Div I playoffs). Wins over 5A SA Madison and 5A Steele (Div II State Champs) and a blowout over Boerne Champion were quality wins. Weak District though. LT's schedule was a notch above Tivy, including Aledo.

I would have to agree with you. Taking 4 teams in a 6 team district seems kind of silly to me. Waters down the playoffs for sure. I wonder what is the furthest a #3 or # 4 ever advanced in the playoffs? Anybody know that stat?
On the other had, it does give us a couple of extra games, and the kids can say, when they are crusty old farts like us, "we went to the playoffs every year back in the day" Maybe we should just add another couple of weeks and everybody goes?

i agree about the underclass football teams. not a good measuring stick. some of the kids are very in expierienced or usually on the team just to be there, especially on the jv squads. but u look at ur freshman and 8th grade squads.. u can tell a bit better where the skills lie I agree with you somewhat, but the 2009 group of seniors at the Bluff went 1-9 when they were in 8th grade and ended up as undefeated district champs their senior year. My son's 8th grade class had the same record...1-9 losing some games by 40+ points. Last year, they were 5-5 as freshmen and never lost a game by more than 6 points. I think some kids mature a little later than others and that makes a big difference in their level of play in 8th grade. T-M's 8th graders won district last year...and we all know how that program pans out in high school. I've always said that if there were playoffs in 7th and 8th grades, South Texas would dominate.

We're focused on the big picture...sure you have to first take care of district, but beating Cal Allen, or East is NOT the big picture. Carry on

Just seems to me If you cant even win the district your in, then your not going to be very competitive with a really good team like ALT. Heck, we won our district and then got our butts handed to us later down the road in the play-offs.

LOL again, one merely need to look at the content of their posts to see what they're "worried" about. Silly.

We are changing our focus from our first district game to..........the Green Bay Packers and Superbowl 46. We apparently have been selling ourselves short in the goals department.

Maybe you guys should learn how to use the 'quote function' on here! OMG, you are killing me! LMAO I agree with the post talking about Tivy's schedule vs LT's! Tivy's was tough, LT's was tougher. And you are right about Tivy's wins over Mad & Steele. They were both quality wins, the Madison one more so then the Steele one! The reason I say this is because Madison peeks in week 0 to week 5, Steele doesn't get after it until week 11! If Tivy and Steele would have squared off in week 11, I'd have bet the house on a different outcome! Trust me, I know Tivy got better throughout the year, but Steele was not even close to the same team in the regular season as they were during the playoffs! I'm very much looking forward to the Steele/Tivy game this year. Tivy has owned Steele's azz for the past 3 years. That may just continue with the game being week 3 this year and that would not bother me at all because there is only 6 games that actually count............they start in week 11! Also, I know we will have another great shootout to watch win or lose!

Here we go again. Step back and cool down. LOL...it's no problem bud...nobody ever accused y'all of knowledgeable football talk or talking strategies. It is what it is and y'all are best at one upping and run in packs. Booger just needs to lay the Cal Allen Law down and the cycle is complete.
